When the World Feels Heavy: A Fireside Message from Thora Greyhawk

I feel it too.
A darkness settles over the land—not the kind born of night, but of fear. Of betrayal. Of cold hands signing bills in warm rooms while the people they serve shiver in worry. While families lie awake wondering if they will lose the care that keeps them alive. While elders and warriors and children alike are told to give more, while the hoarders of gold take more still.
If you are feeling weary… anxious… angry… you're not alone.
These are not ordinary times. The very foundations of what we thought was secure—health, dignity, justice—quake beneath us. And it is tempting, in such moments, to fall silent. To despair. To curl into ourselves and let the fire die out.
But hear me now, shield-sister. Brother-in-arms. Wayfarer of the weary road:
This is not the end. This is the forge.
We are not made of paper and promises. We are made of grit and grief and the fire that remains even when all the kindling is gone.
When the 'leaders' forget who they serve, we remember who we are.
When laws turn cruel, we turn toward each other.
When the halls of power echo with greed, our Great Hall will echo with courage.
So tonight, if you cannot sleep—light a candle. Speak your fears aloud. Write them down. Burn them if you must.
And then—rest. Nourish. Ready your blade.
Because this storm will pass. Or we will carve a path through it.
Together.
You are not alone. You are not powerless. You are not finished.
The saga is real — and so are we.
With fire in my chest and steel in my spine,
—Thora Greyhawk
